Alcatraz Island

Did you know that you can take self guided tours just by using the My Explore Hertz NeverLost Mobile Companion? I told you it can be utilized for finding great things to do in San Fran! One of the most popular tours around is the “Alcatraz-The Rock” tour. Alcatraz Island offers “a close-up look at the site of the first lighthouse and US built fort on the West Coast, the infamous federal penitentiary long off-limits to the public, and the 18 month occupation by Indians of All Tribes which saved the tribes. Rich in history, there is also a natural side to the Rock—gardens, tide pools, bird colonies, and bay views beyond compare.” Alcatraz is a place of contradictions, with a past full of the most incorrigible inmates and a future as one of San Francisco’s most prominent tourist attractions…How can you pass up something so interesting? To plan your visit, see: Alcatraz Island: An Inescapable Experience.
