Dallas Done Right

“Dallas days and Fort Worth nights
All day long he sets his sights
On ice cold beer and neon lights.”
– Chris Ledoux

Dallas/Fort Worth is a great place to be! There is so much to do here..it’s insane! I have been living in the DFW area for about three years now and I still find new and exciting things to do everyday! Dallas/Fort Worth brings so much to the table when it comes to having fun. Sometimes it is hard to choose, let alone find the time out of a busy schedule! Thankfully, the My Explore Hertz NeverLost Mobile Companion is readily available to help me figure things out. Regardless of what I want to do, DFW has it all 🙂

Restaurant Week

Restaurant Week is the time where restaurants provide special offers and fabulous deals in various cities. Restaurant Week for Dallas/Fort Worth started on August 13th and thankfully doesn’t end until August 19th. So, guess what? That means you still have this whole weekend to book a reservation at one of the many participating restaurants. Just how many restaurants are participating, you ask? 110 restaurants in the DFW area are awaiting your arrival for Restaurant Week this weekend and they are all amazing! What is even more magnificent is that some of these restaurants tend to extend Restaurant Week past the “official” end date which gives customers even more time to find the perfect meal. For example, you can find a table at Woodfire Kirby’s  for Restaurant Week through September 2nd. I have never been there, but it sounds delicious! “Woodfire by Kirby’s is a Chef driven restaurant specializing in Hickory Wood Grilled Cuisine, Hand Crafted Cocktails, Premium Beers, & Fine Wine.” This restaurant is located in the Dallas area, off of Greenville Avenue (a very popular area), so you might want to head over there and check it out! For a complete list of the restaurants participating in the DFW Restaurant Week, see: Dallas-Ft Worth KRLD Restaurant Week.

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

The DFW area tends to have a lot of faithful Dallas Cowboys football fans! With preseason started up and the regular season right around the corner, people are very pumped up about the new Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader squad. For those of you who don’t know, trying out to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader is quite a process! Cuts are made all the time and you have to make it past various rounds and training camp before you can call yourself a DCC. The training camp squad was announced at the conclusion of the final auditions on May 19th and it consisted of twenty veterans and twenty five rookies. Those girls then had to compete through training camp to keep their spots. Finally, the 2012-2013 DCC squad was announced last week and it consists of twenty returning veterans and nineteen rookies. For anyone who lives in the DFW area or who plans on visiting, trust me when I say that you won’t run out of exciting things to do! Adventure is always around the corner and I am still learning new things about Dallas/Forth Worth every day. Summer is coming to an end, so make sure you take advantage of any free time you might have to go explore! Do Dallas Right!
