Sacramento Gold Rush

“Sacramento…California begins here.” – SCVB

Sacramento, the capital city of California, offers a variety of things to do! To make this city even better, the My Explore Hertz NeverLost Mobile Companion can help you “discover gold” while you’re in this wonderful place! Whether you decide to take a tour or go on an adventure, you can have a great time!

Discover Gold

According to the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau, “Even 150 years after the famous California “Gold Rush,” visitors are still discovering gold in Sacramento… It’s in the area’s family-friendly attractions, museums, and parks and gardens. It’s there for the taking at four-star restaurants and first-class hotels. It’s in every seat in the house for Broadway musicals and local plays.” Discovering gold might be different for every person, but it can definitely be achieved. “Gold” can come in all shapes and forms. Whether you find yourself at an amusement park, a museum, on a cruise, at a comedy club, in a casino, or somewhere off the beaten path, Sacramento can show you a fantastic time! Watch this video tour to see what all the capital of California has to offer!

Discover Tours

With the My Explore Hertz NeverLost Mobile Companion, you can find exciting tours to take and you can even be your own guide! All over Sacramento and nearby, you can find a variety of things to do. One of the popular tours people like to enjoy is called the “Avenue of the Giants.” This tour takes you through the world famous California Redwoods. In particular, with this tour, you can “Drive Through a Redwood Tree.” According to California’s Redwood Coast, there are three “Drive-Through” trees located on the North Coast. The three trees in this tour are known as the Chandelier Tree, the Shrine Drive-Thru Tree and Drive-Over Tree, and the Klamath Tour Thru Tree. In order to visit the “Avenue of the Giants,” you do have to venture away from Sacramento, but the Southern Humboldt county area has a variety of shops, eateries, and lodging available to make your trip worth it. Just think…by visiting Myers Flat, you could drive through a Redwood! I would love to do that! Driving through such a unique scenic area seems like it would be an amazing experience.

Then Peak Adventures is the place for you!! “ASI Peak Adventures is the outdoor program designed to serve the campus community of California State University, Sacramento, and the other communities in the Northern California region.” Peak Adventures offers recreational activities and educational opportunities through ropes course programs, guided outdoor trips, and clinics/classes on many outdoor subjects. They have adventure trips that include things like backpacking, biking, climbing, hiking, rafting, snow trips and much more! Their motto, “WE HELP YOU FEEL RIGHT AT HOME WHILE YOU DARE TO ADVENTURE AWAY FROM HOME,” really helps get people out of their comfort zone. Peak Adventures also has excellent team development program. They have a Peak Adventures Challenge Center which is located on the Sacramento State Campus and their goal is to “empower you and your team to achieve greater results through a personalized learning experience you won’t forget!” They have been building teams since 1989 and they create specialized programs that are designed to meet each group’s specific needs. The Challenge Center is a ropes course that can be used to “promote personal development and team building through the use of activities both on the ground and in the air.” Peak Adventures sounds pretty awesome and I would love to participate in activities like the ones that they offer!
