Summer Championships

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger

With the Triple Crown Races soon coming to an end and an NBA Finals rematch between the Heat and the Spurs beginning with Game 1 tonight, many people are about to undergo the life lesson that strength doesn’t always come from winning. Everyone involved in these activities have been working hard and it will be interesting to see how things turn out! Get some information on these events!

Triple Crown

“The Belmont Stakes is the oldest of the Triple Crown races. This third and final leg is contested three weeks after the Preakness and five weeks after the Kentucky Derby. Only 11 times has a horse been able to wrap it all up in New York.” (Psst, it hasn’t been done since 1978!)

The horse that everyone has their hopes on this year, seems to be California Chrome, ” the 3-5 favorite to become horse racing’s 12th Triple Crown champion.” The Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner will be facing 10 rivals on Saturday in New York and this has to potential to be the “largest Belmont field ever beaten by a Triple Crown winner.”

Watch as California Chrome gallops at Belmont Park!

To learn more about the odds of this horse winning and the history of the race, read the full article, “History Not on California Chrome’s Side At Crowded Belmont.”

I personally hope that California Chrome can pull it off!

NBA Rematch

“The San Antonio Spurs host the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the 2014 NBA Finals tonight; a rematch from last year’s Finals in which the Heat won it all in seven games.”  If the Heat win, they will be successfully completing a “three-peat.”

While many people think that the Spurs are out for revenge from last year’s final, others think they just worked hard as a “method to get past the devastation that resulted from last year’s series.” Coincidentally, the teams are matched up for the finals again!
