Send Dad Packing

While traditional gifts that dad can unwrap and use on a day-to-day basis are great and all, some dads this year filled with the urge to travel! Check out this list of places that you could send your dad (or visit with him)!

  • Kentucky Bourbon Trail – Let dad explore eight major distilleries (and many other smaller ones) across beautiful bluegrass country from Louisville to Knoxville.
  • Cleveland’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – While you might not want to attend a festival with him, you could do more than buy him the latest musical gadgets. Venture off to see the impact that rock has made!
  •  Links at St. Andrews – Considered the “birth place of golf,” go to Scotland and tour the grounds, visit the British Golf museum, check out some castles, or go down to the beach and drive some balls into the North Sea.
  • Mountain Biking in Utah – Visit Park City Utah for some bonding time. Consider filming, editing, and then gifting the experience to dad!
  • Dig This in Las Vegas – Voted the #1 Vegas attraction by TripAdvisor, take dad to compete in contests where he can “pile up monster truck tires, dig the biggest ditch, or use the bulldozer in a race to make the most massive mound of dirt. “
  • Marinella’s in Italy – Avoid the cliche gift of a tie and instead take the family to the most prestigious tie shop! Or perhaps plan a trip for next year!
  • Gentleman’s Manicure at the Bellagio spa – Plan a father-daughter spa trip and tell dad to put the “man” back in “manicure” for a bonding visit in Vegas!

Golf it Up

“It’s sure to be an emotional scene come Sunday at Pinehurst, North Carolina.

You see, the folks at the 2014 U.S. Open will crown a champion, and the chances are that there will be a very proud father shedding a tear or two as he watches his son raise the trophy.”

As 156 golfers compete for one of the greatest titles in U.S. sports this Sunday (also Father’s Day), many of their father’s will be waiting and proud. For the golf fans who aren’t competing, this is an excellent event to use for bonding time with your father! Whether you’re at home watching the final round, out somewhere watching, or even taking a couple swings on a course and knowing you’ll check out the winner later, you never know when your last days playing with your favorite partner might come to an end. (Sad but true). Use this weekend to take part in an activity that you both take interest in.
