Freedom Filled Fourth

“Our greatest happiness does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation and freedom in all just pursuits.” – Thomas Jefferson

The 4th of July, also known as Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the United States that commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Many people in the U.S. have this day off from work tomorrow and there will be plenty of celebratory activities going on!

What A Blast

No matter where you go, you’ll most likely see an illuminated sky! While some events and locations gain more popularity than others, it’s important to realize that United States boasts 4th of July activities all over! Learn about some lesser known events so that you can broaden your ideas of where to travel in the future for this holiday!

Those are just three off the top of my head! Also, as listed in “Best unknown Fourth of July celebrations“, the following locations are good suggestions as well:

  • Warren, Vermont
  • Hingam, Massachusetts
  • Almeda, California
  • Fort Worth, Texas

Although the article itself is a few years old, the celebrations talked about still seem like a great time!

While I haven’t had the chance to celebrate Independence Day in some of the classic spots (DC, Boston, New York, etc.), I have had my fair share of fun for this holiday! For your next 4th of July, consider riding roller coasters at Silver Dollar City in Branson or visiting Table Rock Lake (both in Missouri), enjoying a horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown Houston or checking out the Freedom Over Texas celebration, or even just going to the pool with your friends, family, and maybe even pets!

 The Big Bang

Now, if being around the best and biggest firework shows and activities seem like it’s more your thing, there are definitely places for you to celebrate! Some of the best cities include:

  • Washington, D.C.
  • New York City, New York
  • Boston, Massachusetts,
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • San Diego, California
  • Portland, Oregon
  • Atlantic City, New Jersey
  • San Antonio, Texas
  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida
